Children & Youth
A blossoming ministry among children and youth has been central to the life of St Peter’s over the past few years.A number of initiatives have seen large numbers of children and their parents engage with church activities and with special services which are held monthly. We have strong contacts with the local Primary and Junior School’s, the latter of which is a Church of England Controlled School.
A welcome addition to the team looking after children’s and youth work has been the attachment of a trainee children and families worker to St Peter’s for a period of three years and similarly a trainee youth worker.
Pebbles
Pebbles is a toddler group which takes place in church every Monday during term time, catering for large numbers of children, their parents and carers from the village.
Little P’s
Little P’s is the infant equivalent of Pebbles also meeting on a Monday and again attracting good numbers so that between the two St Peter’s sees over 120 people through the groups every Monday.
Sunday Specials
Every month a Special Service for children and their parents is held at 4pm in church attracting many of those who attend Pebbles and Little P’s. The approach of the service is informal bordering on anarchic, the main aim being to have fun and to demonstrate and celebrate God’s love.
Junior Church
During the Sunday Morning Church service up to twenty children will spend part of the service (other than on All Age weeks) in Junior Church where they are taught from the bible and typically get quite messy.
